For this body of work called "Daisy's Playtime", it brings me back to
the carefree and sometimes exuberant childhood play at home, where our
reality is only limited by our imagination. I wish to capture a
glimpse into a child's wondrous playtime world, reflecting both the
ephemeral and lasting. My other watercolour artworks are of subjects
real or imagined, that reflects optimism, serenity and harmony.
I use a fusion of traditional and digital mediums, with silhouette
illustrations. Silhouette can evoke a feeling of mystery, yet retain
a certain familiarity; engaging the observer and piquing their
imagination to fill in the details. Instead of the traditional plain
background, my silhouettes are on colourful abstracts, using the
influence of colour to enhance the mood and depth of my subject.
